Hello Fall! I welcome you with open arms. It's the best time of the year (in my opinion) - a chill in the air, hot apple cider, pumpkin picking, and of course - S'MORES! Sticky, gooey, sweet and delicious. Everyone gets together around the fire and exchanges stories while making little chocolate and marshmallow sandwiches. The one thing I don't like about s'mores? All the added sugar, wheat, gelatin, and other words I can't even pronounce. SO, I set out to create a s'mores board without anything that isn't made from real ingredients!
This delicious s'mores station was made as a part of our recent fall cook-out. To get all the recipes from this fun fall meal - complete with a vegan burger board - click HERE.
Let's start with the graham crackers. A recent discovery for me is that I can't have gluten or eggs, so finding a graham cracker without those ingredients that still tastes great was at the top of the list. Luckily, I found Pamela's Graham Crackers! They're both delicious and comparable to regular crackers. We used both the Honey and Cinnamon varieties for this snack board.
Next, the marshmallow. Normally they consist of sugar, gelatin, and more sugar. I had to find a better option! Dandie's VEGAN Marshmallows are made without gluten, corn syrup, gelatin, artificial flavors or colors. Now that's what I'm talking about. However, this may cause a problem as I can now eat marshmallows without the guilt of eating junk, somebody hold me back! Both my husband and I couldn't stop snacking on them, as you can see from this cute shot.
Completing the ingredients to a classic s'mores sandwich - CHOCOLATE. However, not just any chocolate will do. It needs to be gluten-free and have unique flavor, making the Coda Signature Coffee & Donuts Chocolate Bar such a perfect fit! Being infused with coffee and cinnamon gives the fall twist I was looking for. Every Coda Signature chocolate bar is also made with ethically sourced cacao!
Each piece of Coda Signature chocolate starts with ethically sourced cacao.
Please note that Coffee & Donuts Chocolate Bar contains cannabis and is only available in select states. Refer to your state's guidelines and abide by all purchasing laws and limits. If you are unfamiliar with your tolerance, remember to go LOW and SLOW! If this product is not available to you, the non-infused recipe is still delicious!
We didn't stop there. Why not give other elements to the basic s'mores? Like crisp apples, fresh juicy strawberries, and creamy peanut butter. Don't forget the Snyder's Gluten-Free Pretzels! This gave us so much variety, opening up the options to being more than just s'mores. Take a brake from the sweets with some pretzels and peanut butter. Stay refreshed with some apple slices. Now go back in for more marshmallow gooey goodness!
Now that you know all the details, let's get down to it! Time to make your fall s'mores station.
ingredients:
Marshmallows (we used Dandie’s Vegan Marshmallows - they are SO GOOD)
Pamela’s Gluten-Free Graham Crackers - Honey and/or Cinnamon (we used both)
Peanut Butter
Apples
Strawberries
Sterno Canned Heat
Skewers
how to:
Wash and cut strawberries and apples.
Arrange all ingredients on serving board. Depending on the size/shape of the board, you may have to use other serving dishes for the apples and peanut butter.
Place damp paper towels or tin foil under Sterno can to ensure the heat doesn't affect the serving dish.
Light sterno can and set out skewers.
